Best Ph.D. thesis award for Tiago Carvalho of RECOD at SIBGRAPI’2014

Tiago Carvalho, who did his Ph.D. work at RECOD under the supervision of Prof. Anderson Rocha (and the co-supervision of Prof. Helio Pedrini of the Institute of Computing, UNICAMP) was awarded the best Ph.D. thesis award at the 27th SIBGRAPI conference on Graphics, Patterns and Images.

Tiago’s work — “Illumination inconsistency sleuthing for exposing fauxtography and uncovering composition telltales in digital images” — explores the growing need to identify authentic from doctored images in the digital age.
